What does it take - really - to master internet markeing - or any type of endeavor? The real mastery is not just in learning and using skills, but in self-mastery, or learning to live by conscious responsible control. Actually deciding to get started in internet or online marketing, is perhaps the most difficult part for most people, because when one decides, in the way that Napoleon Hill or using the Greek translation, one finds that the word "decide" means that one cuts off all other possible options in favor of this one course of action. There is no going back and ones mind is made up. Period. There is passion in this type of decision. When people are casual about their choices, they will get casual or disappointing results.
When you're at an athletic event and you hear the announcer say, "Get ready, get set...," how do you react? At that point, all eyes are on the competing athletes as they prepare themselves to participate in a public display for which they've trained for months or even years. The fans don't see the behind the scenes sacrifices (unless they are the parents or partners of the athlete) and the massive amounts of time spent honing their skills leading to this event.
At some point, these individuals had to make a decision to not only participate, but to become the best. They had to commit to doing whatever it took to get there. Perhaps they wanted a scholarship to a good school, or to become a professional athlete, or even go forward to an Olympic medal. The point is, they decided to start... to "get ready" and they had a HUGE "why" to provide the motivation to "do what it takes" to get there. On the rainy, cold mornings when they really didn't want to get out of bed, or after a grueling workout where they weren't sure they had enough energy to do homework, or take care of their families, they kept at it.
There is really a getting ready part before the announcer begins the event. It is the time spent focusing completely on preparation while incorporating a proven system of incremental improvements over time. This helps ensure that when the athlete is ready to take part in their event, they are well-trained and really, truly READY. In order to be most effective, this training also involves an outside coach who has been there before and is well-qualified to teach others how to excel. Very few people ever reach the highest echelons of success without a coach - not in sports not in business and not even in life. Whether a coach is a physical coach or a book, a mentor or some organized step-by-step system, that type of training is all part of getting ready.
The loudspeaker booms "Get ready, get set...." The athlete doublechecks and sets his position; his focus; and his fixed state, while his energy is revved to the max. He strains to hear the last word "go" before springing into action - against the clock, against the other participants, but mostly, wanting to improve his personal best..
Those who are truly successful are in the minority. What sets them apart? I would say that their ability to decide on what they want, focus on one thing and master it. By mastering one thing, you will aid in the mastery of your own life. For the people who take the time to do this, the success rate is in the 90% range. For those who don't, the success rate is more like 4%. if that...
To model an athlete's training - you can write this down - then look at it and adjust it regularly!
Decide what you want
Decide why you want it
Understand what will happen if you don't get it.
Understand what your life will be like if you do achieve it.
Find a coach or system or group of individuals to participate with
Develop focus and intent towards that which you want
Take action
I write this to lay the foundation that what we decide; what we are inspired to accomplish - has a way of creating attractor energy fields that will tend to manifest what is in our consciousness, when we are ready.
This is your time to shine. So, "get ready, get set...."
