The butterfly effect is a really fascinating theory and it was widely popularized when Ashton Kutcher played the main role in the movie "the butterfly effect". What the theory of the butterfly effect basically states is that even the smallest things can have a deep and profound impact on a very large scale. The example they use in the theory is how a butterfly flapping its wings in South America can theoretically be the cause of a tsunami in South East Asia and be the cause of a lot of people dying.
This theory is truly fantastic and is one of the greatest tools we have at our hands when it comes to self development and working towards our goals. What it really means is that all the small actions we take towards our goals is what is going to help us achieve them. Some of the greatest and most successful people of our modern history, succeeded because they were at the right place at the right time. This even didn't just happen by luck, it was more a natural occurrence because of all the prior actions these people had taken in order to actually be at the right place at the right time.
We all know that the world is chaos and that you can never be completely sure of what is going to happen in your life. But by taking the right actions and right actions are off course defined as actions that will get you closer to your goal, you are greatly increasing your chances of suddenly being at the right place at the right time. At the same time you should never underestimate how small actions that are repeated every single day will add up and suddenly give you results and benefits you had never even dreamt off, this is of course in tune with both the theory of the butterfly effect and the theory of compounding presented by Mr Albert Einstein.
If you really think about it, it is actually quite simple. The quote "You are your habits" sums it up quite nicely and if you just keep taking actions (no matter how small or how big) towards your goals, you are by the laws of the universe bound to get closer to the specific goals you have set. It is all about getting started and being the catalyst of these actions.
