Western Civilization seems so transfixed on its apparent paths of destruction, lies, corruption and materialism that we've forgotten the fundamentals of what it means to live. Every man, woman and child is special and unique at birth, but because of the guiding hands of the western powers and the push towards Globalization we have seemingly overlooked this fact. Western powers, like religion, make this same grievous error when looking at the people it governs. I throw religion in there because it has one quality akin to that of Government that is terribly unsettling to me. Both try to lay out what is best for its followers/citizens by controlling what the people are allowed to do. It's the age old "for their own good" theory.
I call it a theory, because it is not natural, it is something that man has devised. The "for their own good" theory is the thought that some men/women are special or better adapted to make general assumptions about what is good fro their fellow man, even to the extent of controlling the lives of their fellow man through regulations and laws. What this means to me is, apparently, I shouldn't have the ability to make judgments about certain things myself. I'm just supposed to accept what I'm told and move on with life. Yet, I am still supposedly free by the inherited rights of being born to this country. Now we have a problem, because the wish of others to lead may and in fact will in someway infringe upon my born freedoms. So what is left?
The only thing that is always left. Questions. The ability to ask is one of mans' greatest, because by asking a question one will eventually be getting some answers. So now I ask this; Is not experience part of existing? How can any man/woman/men/women rule on how another should exist without first experiencing the life of which they are trying to rule? Experience is everything in existence. How do you know a light switch turns a light bulb on? Because you experienced it when you hit the switch. So then how, being a supposedly free man, am I not allowed certain experiences that do no harm to anyone but potentially myself?
