Sustainability thoughts
I joined the Worldshift 2012 community. This community is founded by Ervin Laszlo. I like to share here with you 6 important views. They explain why it is important for me to join the Worldshift Community.
1 Climate change
What does climate change mean to me? It means we have to change how we live our lives. That is the only option. The great thing is that today it is more possible than ever with internet as a communication channel to start sharing this awareness. We have to unite worldwide with a diversity of people and start designing sustainable solutions.
2 Peace
What does peace mean to me? It starts with reaching out to others. Forget your own ego. Listen to others, share knowledge. If you look at the other you see yourself. Let's call it love. If we are able to act like that, peace will start to grow among us. We will be at peace with ourselves and our environment. Stress disappears. Pain disappears. Love will show itself. That's one of the reasons I started Mirror Yourself.
3 Community
What does community mean to me? The world is one community. We are connected in many ways. It also means survival. Only as a community we can survive. The interaction between people with different backgrounds, cultures, expertises, creates an environment where solutions start to show themselves as part of this interaction. It is more than rationality. It is about true meaning of life.
4 Politics
What does politics mean to me? First thing that comes in my mind is power. And power is by definition egocentric. One has to be self-confident and be able to look at the whole to be able to use power in a way that is in the best interest of us all. By definition politics is about creating differences and so not the solution for future problems. That is, if the new politics were about issues that concern us all and if we were to choose wise people who govern in the interest of us all, politics could still work.
5 Money
What does money mean to me? Money is a means to exchange value. If we use it that way, it is ok. Once we start to see it as a goal in itself, it will work against us. Money is not the answer to the problems that we are facing now. We have to start with a new way of exchanging value. So, in essence, money means nothing
6 Happiness
What makes me truly happy? If we care about each other. If our children have a future. If all life is respected. If we care more about the other than about ourselves. If the awareness that we have to change will spread like wildfire and we experience a tipping point. If we are able to develop / organize sustainable solutions for the future.
