Microsoft have introduced their latest release just in time for the holiday season, anticipating the demand for consumers, which will provide endless fun for families.
Microsoft's Kinect is the latest development in controller-free gaming, utilizing a natural user interface i.e. movement, speech etc, as opposed to the typical use of a control pad.
There are around 15 games for the Kinect which have already been released. These unsurprisingly include a range of very fun and interactive dance based games (such as Konami's Dance Masters, and MTV games' Dance central) plus a lengthy roster of games announced for future release, amongst them a whole host of Kinect exclusives (like Capcom's Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, Sega's Rise of Nightmares).
The competition comes hot on the heels of its release in North America on the 4th November, where it has proved to be a very big seller with some online retailers selling out. Its release has taken place today in Europe (10th November), with thousands of eager gamers queuing overnight outside stores, just to get Xbox 360 and Kinect. Its release is also imminent in Australia (18th November) and Japan (20th November).
The Kinect will be competing with the Playstation Move and also the Wii MotionPlus in motion sensing gaming. Will this all spell the end for sore thumbs?
The price for the Kinect is at around 129.99 (and around $149.99 in the U.S.) For those eager to get Xbox 360 and Kinect without the expense, there are certain sites, such as Free Galaxy Tab.com, which are running competitions to win Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle, so you could indeed pick yours up for free.
