Blur Tool, Sharpen Tool and Smugde Tool - Photoshop Tools

This is tutorial on blur tool, sharpen tool and smudge tool. This is the 12th tool in photoshop. The Shortcut key is "R". This will be a interesting tutorial because these tools are really good and important. So, let's get started.

Blur Tool (Shortcut Key - R)

The name of the tool tells the purpose or use of this tool. Yes, Blur tool is used to blur the image. To use this tool, select the blur tool from toolbox. Just click and hold left-click and paint on the image, you can notice the image (the portion where you painted) is getting blur. That's it. Using these tools are very very easy.

The first option is the brush size. This option can be used to increase or decrease the size of the brush. You can also use "["as shortcut to decrease the size and "]" as shortcut to increase the brush's size.

The next option is the Mode (i.e blending mode). I guess you know about these modes. But still I like to explain about the first two modes (i.e Darken and Lighten)

If you have Darken as your blending mode, then while using the blur tool, the darker portion of the image gets more blured. If you have Lighten as your blending mode, then while use the blur tool, the lighter portion of the image gets more blured.

Next is the strenth option. If you have the more strength the bluring is very quick or instant. If you have less strength the bluring is slow, and you have the full control over the tool.

Sharpen Tool

Sharpen tool is used to sharpen the tool. This tool is found nested with the blur tool and smudge tool. If you want to select the sharpen tool then right-click on the blur tool, and you can see the Sharpen tool and Smudge tool.
