The French manufacturers compact MPV faced stiff competition from all makes and models including the Ford S Max and Mazda 5. The 5008 has also been awarded 2010 MPV Car of the Year by What Car? magazine.
The Peugeot 5008 was released in 2009 at around the same time as the new Peugeot 3008 in Slough; the 5008 is available as a 7 seater as well as a traditional 5 seater. The 5008 comes with 5 engines options, 2 petrols and 3 diesels.
The petrol line up consists of two 1.6 litre engines with either 118bhp or 154bhp, the HDI diesels come as a 1.6 litre with 108bhp or a 2.0 litre with 148bhp or 161bhp. The 1.6 litre diesel HDI is the best compromise between power and economy.
