subject: Good Spiritual Life Style Of Christian Living [print this page] In dealing with two ideas which seem pertinent to each other, one always finds, after much research and survey that, they actually are quite poles apart. Such is the case of how the Bible has asked one to lead a life and how one leads itthinking that it is permissible.
In this discourse we are presented with two ideasChristian living and Christian faith.
Trusting in God is Faith. It is the relationship with God which is sustained and motivated by ones belief that God keeps his word. Faith is being confident that God does what He promises and then accepting his grace from His son Jesus. The Bible asks its disciples and its followers alike, to have as much faith in the Almighty as does a child on its mother.
"And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch." -- Acts 11:26.
Each opening of the New Testament is replete with guidelines on Christian living. It merely states that to be the part of the church for which Jesus sacrificed himself one must do what the Bible enunciates.
Thus, to live the true Christian way one must strive to follow a path of righteousness, faithfulness, love, self-control and service to others, like the Good Samaritan.
Where having faith believes that God will salvage one from all ordeals, living like how God wants us to is merely a path to facilitate the said salvation. The most important thing to avoid is sin. When we sin we are torn apart from His love. Thus we must ask for absolution to be brought back into his grace. It is said in the holy book that being a Christian is by virtue the creation of a newer self after the destruction of the prior sinful self. However, one sins (unknowingly at best) and thus cannot reach the perfection strived for. However, if one is to live life in the footsteps of Jesus and have faith that his blood will continue to cleanse one of all his misdeeds, one shall definitely be worthy of Gods love.
Thus having faith and living right are inter-dependent. Yet it is seen that in the modern world (which is so full of lies, deceit and selfishness) one is not able to live as God wants us to. Our only solace lies in true and unwavering faith that the Lord loves all and that we are his children and forgiveness is all that is required to be saved.
