Respect your body's ability to self heal

It was just over a week and a half ago when I gashed my left forefinger chopping wood. It was nothing serious, just a bit of blood and a flap of turned up skin.

Now, 10 days later, I noticed how well it had healed, a slight faint mark the only reminder of the incident.

Our ability to self heal is something that most of us just take for granted. But in reality our body is working 24 hours a day (even on weekends!) attempting to heal itself whatever the circumstances.

The body's ability to self heal is one of natures great feats and accordingly deserves much respect. Although we assume to a certain extent that a cut finger, or a bruised arm, or a broken bone will eventually heal all by itself (without us even being aware of it), why is it, that so called more serious health conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure or asthma, to name but a few, appear to need another means of intervention in the form of medications for it to be cured? Is the body's ability to self heal, ineffective for these health problems?

It is becoming more widely understood that many serious health conditions develop within the body over many months and sometimes possibly years before manifesting as noticeable physical symptoms. This would tend to indicate, that when the body's ability to self heal is overstressed,' it becomes ineffective and unable to control distressing physical symptoms without the need for medications.

It should be noted that the body's ability to self heal "never gives up on its duties to provide healing" it just waits for the appropriate moment when it will be allowed to function to the best of its ability. That is why it desires your peace, your calm in being able to heal the body effectively.

So, if you happen to suffer from heart disease, or high blood pressure, or asthma, or osteoporosis, or some other serious health condition, keep on taking your symptom controlling medications, but do it, with an awareness of respecting your body's self healing process by exuding a peacefulness and calmness that will aid your recovery.
