Sennheiser HD595 Headphones My Review

So these Sennheiser HD595 headphones are downright great. However they do have their weaknesses and I'll reveal these a little later. First off they are open-type headphones, with a special driver design that is unique to Sennheiser. It is manufactured so that the driver mechanism is aimed down your ear canal so the sound doesn't need to wrap around your ear to get to the ear drum. This is a very clever design element that negates so much of the comb filtering problems that plague other headphones. Comb filtering is when two sound waves meet and cause interference. It's the same as when air passes over and under a wing causing lift, well this causes a destructive degradation of the sound quality so it's definitely not wanted here. They are comfortable, have a well-balanced, detailed sound and are not too expensive for their level of quality.

The Sennheiser HD595 headphones are supremely light too so you barely feel them on your head at all. In fact it's easy to forget they're there at all. This is definitely not the case with so many other headphones out there. Many other headphones feel heavy, suck onto your ears and not only cause listening fatigue but also make you very aware of the movie or music you are listening to. This is not ideal as you want to escape from reality, not being reminded of it all the time.

Their weakness: This is their bass. They are definitely a little bass light. Some people prefer this but if you listen to hip hop or dance music this may not be ideal for you.

In summary I would recommend the Sennheiser HD595 Headphones for gamers, movie buffs, avid music listeners and people who make music on their computers. Their extreme comfort is their biggest strength here and is a perfect match for these activities.
