subject: Why Churches Should Use Buttons As Both A Fundraising And Promotional Tool [print this page]

Anyone who has organized an event in the past will know how important marketing is. When organizing an event, there are various ways of marketing, and corporate giants tend to spend a lot regarding these issues. They employ a large number of marketing officers, MBAs who eat up a lot of the revenues generated in the process of 'spreading the word'. But not every organization has money to throw around on promotional activities.

A church, when organizing a fundraiser, has to market the event in a proper way for it to be a great success, and get as much as possible out of its limited funds for the welfare of the community. A church, being a charitable organization, cannot afford to overspend regarding these occasions, and has to look at inexpensive, yet effective, promotional tools. Enter buttons.

A beautiful method of promoting a fundraiser, or any event for that matter, is through buttons. Buttons are inexpensive, and easy to make. The members of the church could wear buttons which advertise the date and few other details of the fundraiser. Every person wearing the buttons would practically act like moving advertisement billboards. In no time the church would have hundreds of advertising billboards moving all over town. Another subtle benefit of this way is people will not only see the buttons but also interact with them; ask them any question that they have about the event. That manner the word-of-mouth campaign is conducted, all without a huge advertising budget.

Buttons can be used for other church fundraising purposes as well. A church can produce a customized button- maybe the picture of the church or a message that they support (or any other meaningful message that is special to the members). These buttons are sold to members and patrons of the fundraiser at a nominal price. This is a great way of showing off your pride for the church, and patrons can literally wear their pride on their sleeves!

A student reward program can be arranged at the end (or midway) of the fundraiser. Buttons custom designed by the church can be applied in this program as rewards. Every donation that is made towards the well being of the society should be appreciated, and what best method than to reward the patron a button specially made for the aim. applicable messages like 'I helped the homeless' or 'I donated' can be put on the buttons. Encouraging and rewarding, a button comes cheap as well.

The possibilities with buttons are endless. They can be used in the most random and weirdest of ways that is necessary, and they would still deliver. They come in all shapes and sizes; can be of any color that we require them to be; in short, highly customizable. This little part of plastic (or metal at times) never actually struck us an object with infinite possibilities, did it? Next time a button gets torn off your shirt, think twice before throwing it away. It can be the tool of your next promotional campaign.
