Looking at the events that are playing out before us, the collapse of our economy, the government that is taking over our lives, and the upcoming global melt down that is a mathematical certainty, I feel that the time is short and we need to get ready for what is about to happen. It is time Church, the end is near!
The one thing I have said from the beginning is the Bible is accurate and true! What it says will happen, and we must understand that it cannot change no matter how much we want it to. What I am speaking about is the prophecies found in the Word of God that speak of the end times, or the Lord's Day, or the Great Tribulation period. They are all connected and they all will happen. This truth is as real as the coming of Jesus was two thousand years ago. How will we respond to it will depend on what me make as our priorities today. I have said that we need to study the Word of God and to build our faith through the reading of God's Word. We need to pray that the Church will stand strong as a light set on a hill. We need to ask God to remember that we are weak, made of dust and strengthen us to withstand what is ahead. I do not believe that the escapism that we have attached our selves to will stand up to the realism that is around us and is about to explode in the near future.
There is much that has been written concerning the Last Days. It is time to look at our hearts and to see if we are the Church of Ephesus, were we have lost our first love, or the Church of Laodicea, were we have become luke warm. Maybe we will be like one of the other churches, Sardis: thou art dead, or Smyrna: fearing not what we are about to suffer, or maybe Thyatira: fornication with the sexual appetite of this world. Maybe we are like the Church of Philadelphia: were you kept your patience and will be delivered. It makes no difference if we do not awaken and that Day overtakes us as a thief in the night. Awaken Church and set your heart towards God. Jesus is waiting for us to return to our first love, to become hot, to become alive in Christ, too over come fear, or to be patience for a little longer and watch. Jesus is coming for a Church without spot or wrinkle, a Church that is watching and waiting, not asleep. I now this is not comfortable for many to hear but it needs to be said. The Church will suffer persecution and there will be many that will die for their faith. I pray that we all will be willing to suffer for Christ even unto death.
