Recently Duracell has come up with a new product line of batteries called Duracell Ultra. This new design was created with today's portable devices in mind. Many of our current electronic gadgets rely on battery power from PDAs to digital cameras to video game controllers. These small devices are used quite a bit by consumers and, as such, require a lot of power to keep running smoothing.
The Ultra batteries have been said to last up to 80% longer in digital cameras. No photographer, scrapbooker or parent wants to lose camera power at the wrong moment. Memories have to be captured and cameras need battery power to do it. They are also listed as lasting 80% longer in cell phones than their regular alkaline counterparts.
While the Ultra brand is only a couple of years old, Duracell technology has already improved upon its abilities to power us with its Ultra Advanced. These batteries are said to last 20% longer than the original Ultras. The reason these items work so well is a combination of a unique separator design, enhanced cathode ability and more powerful anodes. Their new, patented, case design enhances internal volume causing an extra increase in power.
These batteries appear to work so well that some top name manufacturers recommend them for their products. This includes Logitech for their cordless mice, Psion PDAs, and the Helio line of phones.
On top of all that technology, Duracell is bringing back the ability to check the power level of your battery directly on the device. They are calling it the Powerchecker Tester. Like similar tech from the past, you press in two buttons on top of the battery and a meter will show you the how much power the cell still contains.
When the Ultra brand was first released, you could only get AA and AAA sizes. However, now that the design has been updated and is in more circulation, more sizes are available. Even the less common 9V and lithium types have gotten an Ultra version. There are many different stores, both retail fronts and online, that offer the Ultra product line. The cost is a bit higher than traditional alkaline batteries, but the extra power and longer shelf life make up for it.
