Ejaculation is the process in which during a male orgasm (climax) semen is released out of the penis.
Problems with ejaculation are extremely common, it's estimated that up to 30% of men living in Britain experience at least one incidence of ejaculation problems. There are three main types of ejaculation problems are they are; premature ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation and retarded ejaculation. You can control ejaculation problems with a variety of medication or self-help techniques, but it is worth consulting a medical professional to try and determine exactly what is causing the symptoms before a suitable treatment can be put into action.
Premature ejaculation is by far the most common and widespread ejaculation problem. It is simply where a man ejaculates too soon during sexual intercourse. People may have their own individual ideas on how soon is too soon and it is very variable; however the average time showed that ejaculation usually happened just fewer than five and half minutes though this is different for the individual and their partner. There are many causes, though not generally believed to be necessarily physical but more often than not a psychological or emotional reason. Stress, relationship worries, pressure to perform, even a bad sexual experience can make it increasingly difficult or even impossible to perform. There is no overall cure to prevent premature ejaculation but with the right treatment and support the symptoms can be alleviated and eventually stopped altogether.
Retrograde ejaculation is a fairly rare ejaculation problem. It is where the sperm that usually comes out of the hole at the end of the urethra (the tube that passes from the bladder through the penis and through which urine passes) travels backwards into your bladder. The sufferer will experience the sensations of an orgasm but will not produce any (or if so, very little) semen. This is non -life threatening but it does increase the likelihood that you will not be able to father a child.
Retarded ejaculation is a delay in reaching ejaculation, either persistent or recurring. It is an ability to achieve ejaculation during any kind of sexual activity despite the fact that you still get normal erections. Retarded ejaculation is otherwise known as male orgasmic disorder and delayed ejaculation.
There are plenty of premature ejaculation solutions, treatments, techniques and medications that can be used and the outlook for retarded ejaculation is also thought to be positive. The main difficulty is that many men are just too embarrassed and ashamed to seek help or think that there is nothing that can be done for them so do not seek medical intervention. Retrograde ejaculation on the other hand is far more complicated, depending on the reason for the condition. If it is believed to be caused by muscle weakness, sometimes medication can be used to tighten up the muscles. If the condition is due to nerve damage then there may be nothing medically that can be done.
