DETROIT, M.I. Detroit MI automakers won big at the 2010 SEMA Awards held in Las Vegas, NV. The show this year was the first for SEMA's Hottest Car, Truck and 4x4 Awards, and General Motors, Ford and Chrysler all enjoyed first place.
The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Awards are held every year to not only showcase vehicles but also new products. Out of the 21 cars, trucks and 4x4s awarded, 10 vehicles were from Detroit MI automakers. The list was as follows:

The guests of the SEMA show received ballots while enjoying the festivities and placed votes on what they saw and experienced.
"A booth space is a ballot, and the models these exhibitors have selected represent their vote," said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO, in a statement.
After the final votes came in, it was announced that each Detroit MI automaker won a category. General Motors took first for Hottest Car with the Chevrolet Camaro while Ford took the category in Hottest Truck with the Ford F-Series. Finally, Chrysler took top spot in Hottest 4x4 with its Jeep Wrangler. The Detroit Three can now celebrate having the hottest cars in America.
According to SEMA, this year at the Las Vegas Convention Center there were 12 different gallery-type sections for industry leaders as well as a New Products Showcase which had almost 1,500 new parts, tools and components. There were also educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, and much more offered to those who attended.
