Why Diets Don't Work: TOXINS and Lack Of Nutrition! (Part 2 of a 3 part series)

In Part 1 of this article series I talked about the toxins that bombard us every day and how they make us gain weight. Why doesn't dieting work if you don't rid yourself of toxins at the same time?

The Cycle Of Traditional Dieting

When trying to lose weight, on a traditional diet, we tend to reduce calories by not eating as much food as we normally do. While reducing calories we also are reducing the amount of nutrients, which our body needs to function properly. When you are consuming fewer nutrients by dieting, you are actually depriving your body of important vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes, amino acids, and many more nutrients. Your body will also rob your stored muscle and vital tissue to use as energy. You will lose muscle, have less energy and your metabolism will be slower on a traditional diet.

Toxins Make You Retain Fat

When we consume processed foods and foods covered with pesticides, along with breathing polluted air and consuming or bathing in public water, we are absorbing toxins into our body. These toxins attack your body at the cellular level. Your body protects its cells by coating the toxic impurities with fat, produced by the liver, and this fat is retained your body's fat storage areas (we all know where these spots are!).

When we diet and lose fat, without getting rid of the toxins in our bodies, our liver will start to reproduce fat to re-coat the toxins to protect us. This vicious cycle of dieting to lose weight and gaining the fat back continues until we address the toxins and lack of nutrients we are consuming.

Why Is This Fat So Dangerous?

This "toxic" fat is stored in our bodies and our percentage of body fat begins to increase. As we increase fat and gain weight, it raises our risks for many dangerous health conditions. We lose energy and our immune systems don't work as well. Sometimes we begin to feel symptoms like fatigue and loss of strength. When we get rid of the toxins, our bodies do not need that protective layer of fat any longer and our health begins to improve we lose weight and feel fantastic.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics the prevalence of obesity in 2009 was about 34% for women and 30% for men between 2001 and 2004. Between the years of 1960 and 1962 obesity was at approximately 15.7% for women and 10.7% for men. These statistics are incredible but is it a coincidence that the amount of toxins in our air, water and food that our bodies have absorbed, have also dramatically increased?

In part 3 of my article series, I will talk about how nutrient deficient our food is today, as well as how to lose weight the right way by increasing nutrition, and getting rid of toxins from your body and NOT DIETING ever again!
