Getting Jobs from Appraisal Management Firms

Signing up with appraisal management firms is only the first half of the equation in getting business for your appraisal company. Once you have signed up there is another important aspect you can do to up your chances of getting actual jobs.

Some appraisal management firms have a huge list of appraisers but seem to use the same ones over and over again. They have had good experiences with them in the past and they seem to continually get all the work. Your goal is to get on this list to get the ball rolling.

Your first step, about a week after you have signed up with the company, is to call their customer service number. The purpose of this call is to make sure that they have received all your information correctly. It is also a good idea to let them know that you have not received any jobs yet and to politely ask them how long it will be before you can expect to get one.

If another week goes by and you still have not received any work, make another call to the company. The purpose of this call is to ask them to send you one job. Many times if you request to be sent a job, they will send you one. Once you have done the job, it seems to open the doors to many other jobs.

Some of the companies will tell you that the orders are sent out automatically by their computer system and they have no control over who gets them, but often, after you request it, you will see an order in your email.

While this process takes time, just as it does for signing up to the appraisal management firms, it may be necessary in order to get jobs from some of the management firms.
