subject: Real Estate Agents are Not Necessarily Realtors [print this page] Real Estate Agents are Not Necessarily Realtors
It may surprise you to know that real estate agents aren't always realtors. That's why I wanted to make the distinction between the two in the Home Staging Glossary by Staging Diva. If you look closely, you'll see that Realtorhas a symbol after it an important detail to note.
The entry in the glossary for Realtor reads: People often assume that the term realtor can be used interchangeably with real estate agent. REALTOR is actually a registered trademark of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) and only their members can properly be referred to as a REALTOR.
If you're using the word realtorin your website content, you can get in trouble becauseit is a trademarked phrase. When you make mention of a real estate agent and you know they are, in fact, a REALTOR then you must type the word in capital letters with the symbol after it.
There are lots of great tidbits of information like this in the Home Staging Glossary by Staging Diva. Please take a few minutes to peruse some of the entries there. You won't find strict dictionary-type definitions. Instead I've tried to breathe more life into each entry by adding tips or a link to an article on the subject.
Your suggestions for new additions to the Staging Glossary are especially welcome as it's hard for me to think of all the terms you might like more information on by myself. Contact us with any suggestions for words you would like to see included.
