I've done it, you've done it, we've all done it at one point in our dating career, and if you haven't done it yet, well then congratulations for being so intuitively smart.
Here's how it plays out. There is a guy we like, we are a little unsure of how he feels about us so we go out of our way for him to like us. When he still doesn't give us the response we want we try even harder to get him to really like us and see how great we are. Then he decides that he's not that into us after all, even though he's not really sure why, and we are left wondering what the heck happened after we put so much effort into it.
That's the problem. We are trying too hard to get him and it's pushing him away.
There a few reasons why this is a bad mistake to do when pursuing a guy.
1. It can make the chase for him too easy.
Guys like a little mystery and they like to have to put in a little effort to have you falling all over them. When you automatically come on strong then they don't have a chance to use any of their moves and suave to get you. There's no thrill in trying to get you because there's no effort required.
2. It's annoying and smothering for him.
Trying too hard always comes with too much of everything. There's too much talking, too much touching, and too much in your face. You feel like you don't want to upset him and you don't want to give him a chance to find someone else before you fully snag him so you are always there whether it be in person, phone, or some other form of communication like text. Remember that space creates a desire to have while smothering creates a desire to get away.
I'm not talking about giving days worth of space but don't act like you are only on this earth for him. Keep doing your regular activities and include him in your life where you can instead of every second of it.
