The Varifocal lens is designed with three viewing areas: distance, intermediate and reading. The power is gradually distributed across the lens from the top which is the distance area, down through the intermediate corridor for viewing objects between distance and reading, and into the reading area giving a smooth and comfortable transition of power. Varifocals are today far more popular than bifocals as they offer greater visual and cosmetic benefits. Glasses Frames and Lenses supply three different types of Varifocals: Standard,Premium and Bespoke.
Bespoke Varifocal is the ultimate Varifocal lens and the biggest breakthrough in lens technology in the last 20 years. This lens has the Varifocal area on the rear surface of the lens and is custom built to your individual prescription, unlike the standard Varifocal which has the Varifocal area moulded on the frontsurface andis therefore not individually designed for your usage.
This benefits the wearer as the Varifocal viewingareas are nearer to the front of the eye and, therefore, are much wider than when on the front of the lens. An example to demonstrate this is as follows: If you have your eye 3 inches back from a key hole as you look through it you will be able to see a limited amount at the other side of the room. However, if you push your eye up as close as possible to the keyhole you can see a lot more than you could previously. This, combined with the fact that the Varifocal part of the lens is individually crafted to your needs, is the reason for the enhanced optical performance.
The Varifocal lens is available in Glasses Frames and Lenses widest range of materials for thinner and lighter lenses, and a full range of photochromic plastics, sunlenses as well as Drivewear. Anti-reflective coatings and a full range of tints can be applied to Varifocal lenses.
Glasses Frames and Lenses bespoke Freeform Varifocal is crafted individually to suit your prescription with the advantage of Back Surfaced Technology; the most advanced Varifocal design available. You will benefit from a wider field of vision with enhanced visual acuity and optical performance.
