Candida Test - Tests To Help Determine Yeast Infections & Their Causes

There are many Candida tests that can be done to help you determine if you have a yeast infection. One of the most common that floats around the Internet is the Candida spit test. What you do is you put a glass of water by your bed and then in the morning you spit in it. It is important that you do not drink any water nor brush your teeth or let anything touch your lips or enter your mouth. The first thing you need to do when you wake up is spit in the glass.

Healthy saliva is clear and it will float to the top and slowly dissolve into the water without any cloudiness.

Unhealthy saliva - candida saliva - will have one or more of the following characteristics to it:

Cloudy saliva that sinks

Cloudy specks suspended in the water

Strings that travel down to the bottom of the glass.

The more cloudiness, the more strings and the faster it develops the bigger the overgrowth of Candida you have. Besides this, the most common Candida test is the one performed by your Doctor. They usually take a culture to determine what type of yeast infection you have and this can be helpful in determining the best type of drug to give you to overcome it. Some species of Candida can be extremely resistant to particular types of drugs.

Basic Hormone Candida Test - This is available to help determine a possible cause to recurring yeast infections. Usually the culprit can be too much oestrogen. Basically a swab of your saliva is taken and tested. It is extremely accurate and will help show if your hormones are out of balance. Blood testing on the other hand can have too many false readings, so this is the better option.

Candida Immune Complexes test - This test is the most reliable medical Candida test available. This is an expensive test and must be ordered by a physician. It usually costs in excess of $100.

Mercury Analysis - This is a useful test to have done, as yeast is an immune reaction to excess heavy metals, mostly mercury. If your have high levels of heavy metals, you will not be able to get rid of your yeast problem unless you overcome the heavy metals, so it is well worth getting this test if you are suffering from recurring issues.

Food Allergy Candida Test - A food allergy test can be a helpful way to get more an idea of the causes of yeast infections throughout your body. Food allergies can contribute to several conditions including arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, asthma and eczema that can result in symptoms of fatigue, headaches, anxiety etc.

There are other tests that you can do to determine yeast infection issues but these are the most common.
