Playa del Carmen Real Estate Benefits from Fifth Avenue Investment

Closely tied into the lure of the area's beautiful beaches, the large number of tourist-focused activities are one of the main draws for those buying Playa del Carmen real estate. This is why it's good news that Fifth Avenue, the main downtown pedestrian street forming the heart of the area's tourism activity, is receiving a large investment in November of 2010.

The project began on Wednesday, November 3rd, and is expected to be completed in mid-December. The work to be carried out on the downtown strip of Fifth Avenue and cross streets will include1665 meters (5500 feet) of grading, 87 elegantly decorated street lamps, 108 LED lights for landscaping and garden areas, 46 aluminum benches, 55 garbage containers and 76 round flowerbeds.

In addition to the focus of the original and main tourist strip (beginning at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and the main access street called "Juarez,") the project, entitled "Urban and Tourist Facilities of Playa del Carmen" also includes urban facilities and tourist access to the beach at 88th Street, which is located a few kilometers north of the main downtown tourist area. With a new, upscale hotel appearing at that beach access, the community, which is currently largely working class, is expected to transform into another tourist-oriented beachfront area.

The 88th Street access will receive grading work, placement of concrete access, bi-color concrete design a wooden deck areaw with showers and bicycle parking, a lifeguard tower and a information module. The access will also receive 29 trash cans,15 aluminum bences, 12 royal palms, wood stave sprinklers, 29 decorative lamps, 29 LED lights, and various other items.

In addition to general benefit of improving the main tourist area, both for residents' enjoyment, and for the ongoing growth of the tourism industry, the improvements will also serve to provide some new investment opportunities.

The main focus of new investment opportunities will be around the 88th Street access, where the improved image and easier access will bring improved value to nearby homes. As mentioned above, the area is largely working class at the moment, and lacks image. While some investors Mexicans, Americans and Europeans have already been buying "fixer-uppers" in this area, projects such as this one will help to begin developing community image and improve values of Playa del Carmen real estate in the community.
