There is no doubt that concept of 3D technology has been used in movies since 1950. It has recently made its come back with the release of DVD's. These 3D DVD's require a person to wear 3D glasses made up of cardboard with different colored lenses. These colored lenses filter out different parts of a picture. As different lenses produce the images so it happens that each eye receives a slightly different image. This gives the person an illusion of three dimensional objects. Advancement in this technology has not ended here. It has given rise to a new technology which has been named as Alternate Screen Sequencing- AFS. It displays the different perspectives in alternate frames of films. In this way the film runs at more speed lets say double speed and can be viewed with the help of a pair of 3d glasses.
Manufacturers have always been promising in using the latest and most developed technology. It is a known fact that TV industry has a large number of competitors. Each one of these players has its own target market and the year 2010 is being considered to get a huge market share for the manufacturing of 3D television sets. They know very well that this new technology which has made its place in the minds and the hearts of people is going to earn a lot of revenue for all of them. That is why they are using all their efforts to make 3D television sets. All these players have been successful as well in doing so.
It is known that to watch a 3D movie a person needs to wear a 3D glasses but TV manufacturers have now been successful in making television sets which do not require a person to wear these glasses. It is a big success of these players in this respect. They will not be able to win a huge market share.
Whenever it comes to science and technology we have always seen that there is no end to it. Same is the case here. Technological development in the TV manufacturing will not end here with AFS 3D screens. It will lead these people to some new technology some day in near future as 3D technology led to this AFS technology.
