A team of Indian scientists and engineers have developed sensors using nano materials at affordable prices to detect a heart attack quickly. The device with nano sensors that can detect a heart attack, but also to send its signal through a wireless interface to remotely located physicians for rapid diagnosis and treatment.
The sensors use three-dimensional nano electrical mechanical systems (NEMS) of its polymeric material to convert any abnormal movement of the heart muscle into an electrical signal for the detection of cardiac symptoms. The team has built a tiny shelf in the sensor or nano-particles of the polymer to measure the symptoms of stress (myocardial infarction), heart and transform it into an electrical signal.
