Nobody thinks that having acne is good. Most of us find acne embarrassing. Acne, zits and breakouts are all things we hope to leave behind once we are all grown up and finished with puberty. The truth is that, if you don't take care of your skin, acne is something that can follow you all the way through your adult years. Believe it or not there are some adults whose acne is so bad they feel like they have never left puberty! Here are some of the things that you can put into practice to keep acne off of your face. If you want to keep acne away, keep reading!
Gently washing your face is the way to go. Don't wash too hard! Scrubbing your face too hard can cause damage and make it more susceptible to breakouts. The skin on your face is incredibly sensitive and easily injured so scrubbing is far more harmful than helpful. Giving yourself scrubbing scars can be very embarrassing! This is why it is important that you take are to wash firmly but gently. It sounds difficult but it is very easy to learn. Just remember: if your face is bright red after you're done washing it, that is a bad sign. Bright red is not okay, but you do want to have a little bit of a flushed look. You want to have a healthy glow but stop short of looking like a red light bulb. Ask a dermatologist for help. Some adults are cursed with acne that does not respond to "regular" cleansers and treatments. If you have tried everything that you can think of and nothing is working and you are still suffering from painful and extensive acne, it might be time to enlist the help of a doctor. You might need a prescription strength acne fighter and a dermatologist can give that to you. You might be one of those people whose acne is caused by other medical conditions and a dermatologist will be able to properly diagnose this. You might be surprised to find out that genetics and other health conditions can come into play and cause acne issues. Your dermatologist will give you an exam to help figure out the exact cause of your acne and how to properly fight against it.
What about the natural products that are already in your kitchen and bathroom that could help you combat those zits? You might try squeezing some toothpaste on that pimple. Once a zit or pimple is completely formed, squeeze some toothpaste onto it and leave it alone overnight. The zit should be much smaller in the morning (do not try this if you have pets who might try to lick the toothpaste off of your face while you sleep, doing so could make them sick). Lots of people use egg whites to clean their faces and reduce their breakouts. Either make a face mask from the egg whites and leave it on over night or dab some egg white onto a pimple with a q-tip. People deal with acne for any number of reasons. It is important that you understand that you are not the only person who has acne issues--the type or extremity of your breakout is irrelevant. Everyone deals with acne at least once in his or her life. There are lots of fixes for skin problems. Your acne might only need to be spot treated with a mild cleanser you get at the supermarket. A dermatologist's help might be needed to treat your skin issues. It might take some time but don't get discouraged because you will be able to clear up your skin!
