Molinari and Westwood Locked in Shanghai Duel(part two)

This World Golf Championship event had a European feel. The top six players are European Tour members. Ross Fisher rallied for a 69 and was in the group at eight-under 208 that included Ernie Els (71) and Richie Ramsay (71).

Padraig Harrington was in the group at six under and had the shot of the tournament: he holed a fairway metal for an albatross on the par-5 14th hole, (Titleist AP2 710 Forged Irons)although he dropped two shots after that in his round of 70.

Els overcame a 38 on the front nine to at least give himself a chance of joining Woods and Mickelson as the only players to win two World Golf Championships in the same year.

Westwood had a chance to take the lead on the 16th with a chip to four feet for a great look at birdie. Molinari hit a poor wedge, (Titleist 2010 AP2 Irons)then ran his birdie putt 10 feet past the hole. But he saved his par, and Westwood missed his birdie.

Molinari and Westwood were tied early in the round, but Molinari kept his nose in front, then built a cushion with his soft 7-iron into the breeze from 160 yards on the 13th that cleared a ridge and rolled into the cup. He never saw it go in, tamping down his divot when the roar from the gallery got his attention.

Westwood followed with a 9-iron to 6 feet for birdie, which at least kept him close.

SOUTH KOREAN IN THE LEAD South Korea's Jiyai Shin shot a six-under 66 to take a two-stroke lead over the American Stacy Lewis after the second round of the Mizuno Classic in Shima, Japan.

Shin had six birdies in a bogey-free round at the Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club for a 36-hole total of 13-under 131 .

Shin, who is No. 1 in the rankings, won there in 2008 and put herself in position to win her second tournament of the year.

Lewis had the day's lowest round of 64 to finish two strokes back at 11 under.

"My round was very good today," Lewis said. "I could have done a bit better on the front nine, but all in all I was satisfied with my score."

Taiwan's Yani Tseng shot a 65 and was tied for third with Japan's Miki Saiki (67).

Shin, who held an overnight share of the lead with Japan's Yukari Baba, took the lead with a birdie on the par-5 16th hole and added another on the par-4 18th.

Lewis birdied four of the last six holes and looked set to take the lead before Shin's

strong finish.

Morgan Pressel of the United States shot a 69 for fifth at eight-under 136 in the $1.2 million tournament. (Titleist AP2 Irons)The Japanese star Ai Miyazato struggled for the second day in a row with a 79 that knocked her out of contention.
