Soma [Carisoprodol] Description
This is a musculoskeletal relaxant, which works by 'altering' the perception of pain by the brain and the nerves, and brings on somnolence as it numbs the senses to provide relief from pain.
Uses of Soma
It is a well-tolerated, short-term medicine, used for providing quick relief from pain due to sprains and strains that affect the musculoskeletal system. It is available in tablet form in 2 strengths and it's effect can last from 2-6 hours. It is not recommended for adolescents below 16 and geriatrics above 65. The medicine should be combined with rest, and physical therapy under medical guidance, to give proper benefit.
How to Use Soma
Take the medicine exactly as prescribed. It should be taken with water, but can be taken without regard to food.
Missed Dose of Soma
Multiple doses are usually given. If you miss a dose, consult your doctor. If you remember well in time, you can take the missed dose but if time is nearing for your next dose, leave the missed dose and stick to your normal dosing pattern; but don't double your dose.
Side-effects os Soma
Some of the common, less serious side effects may include:-
Drowsiness

Facial flushing
Nausea
Shivering.

Storage of Soma
When you buy Soma store it at a room temperature between 15 C-30 C, away from heat, light and dampness and out of reach of children and pets.
Precautions of Soma
Soma can be habit-forming, and should not be taken by those who have a history of drug abuse/addiction.
Avoid alcohol for it can increase the side effects of Carisoprodol.
