Making Money From Knowledge Selling An E-Book

Nearly everyone I know has a passion. Whether it's a hobby like fishing, cake decorating or knitting, or a career like law or business, you are sure to know something about at least one thing that sets you apart from everyone else.

If you're looking to make money online, then writing an e-book might just be the way to go. It is entirely possible to make money from your knowledge, and in this article, we look at how.

What Are E-Books?

E-books are electronic books. Usually, they're a little shorter than traditional books, and often, they focus on a specific topic, and follow a how to' format. However, your e-book could be about anything, written in any style, and as many pages as you'd like it to be.

How to Create An E-Book

Creating an e-book is easier than you think. Either you can write the content yourself, and do the layout, or you can hire a freelance writer to put your thoughts on (virtual) paper for you. They can be created on an ordinary computer, with regular word processing software, and you can get free graphics, stock photos or make your own if you want them in your book. Most e-books are converted into PDF's after completion, but aside from the writing and layout, it's the content that's the most important.

Where to Sell Your E-Book

Once your e-book has been created, whether you do it or someone you hire, you still need to sell it! There are various options that you could use:

Sell it on your own site or blog.

Purchase a membership to Clickbank, and allow affiliates to sell your book for you.

Upload your book to Amazon.com's Kindle program, and sell it through their site.

Use Lulu.com, and sell electronic AND hardcopy versions of your book.

E-books are big business, and a well written, well researched e-book on a topic that is popular could easily earn you a very nice residual income for years to come. You might even get a real publishing deal from it, and of course, there are always sequels and follow ups that you can write!
