Do The Outdated Ways Function In Network Marketing Today?

We've all heard and been taught the traditional ways to build a network marketing business, but do they work well in today's market?

Traditional strategies were the only ones we could use say 10 years back, we didn't have the global communication tool at our disposal a.k.a the internet. I'm sure you already know, but by traditional I mean, warm lists, 3 foot rule, belly to belly prospecting, cold calling etc.

Since the dawn of the internet and its evolution into a very powerful business tool, many folks have come to look on the traditional methods of network marketing as defunked. The fact that you are looking at this article means that you already know the internet has something to offer you and your business.

Although many companies will give you a website complete with a back office they don't really know how to market online effectively, therefore they and their distributors are totally in the dark when it comes to effective marketing. There is one major difficulty with these company replicated websites in that they are all identical, what's the problem with that you may ask? Well... Why should someone choose to join you rather than the next listing? These are important questions which need to be answered.

I believe there are some simple reasons why old school methods are not going to work well for most of the people who use them

Prospecting friends & family - do you really want to work with them? Are they properly motivated and have the skills to build an empire? Are you prepared to answer their every beck and call (coz they will expect you too!)

Warm list prospecting - the deal here is to make a list of around 100 folks that you know or come into contact with, not everyone knows this many people so the list can end up quite small. Bear in mind that you really need 100 folks who are actually going to be interested in your particular opportunity whatever that maybe

The three foot rule - do you really want to be that sad loser who is always trying to pitch a deal with everyone? Do you want people to actually try and avoid you, because they think 'oh goodness, it's that guy again, he's gonna try and sell me on his deal again!'

Home meetings - do you have the ability to give good persuasive presentations? Will you be able to fill all the seats each week with hungry new qualified prospects?

Prospecting in shopping malls - well sorry but does anyone want to really do this?

Thats some brief reasons why you might be failing in your business by using only the above mentioned traditional methods. We must remember though that for some people they definitely work, many a downline has been built using these strategies, take Mark Yarnell for example, he never used the internet to earn his 30+ million!

For those people who are not having the success they want and finding it difficult to generate enough leads and cash flow I would like to offer you some good news.

Can you envisage having a following of qualified prospects that respect and hang on your every word, people that come to you with credit card in hand ready to join your business.
