Why starting your business could be the worst mistake of your life

I have seen many people with stars in their eyes believing that a business opportunity is going to yield them millions of dollars. However, what they don't realise is that starting a business can be a large investment in time, energy and finances. The less you have of one, the more you have to have on the other.

If you don't have a lot of time, expect to put out a lot more money and energy in getting the same amount of effort in less time. You may have to outsource some of the work, you may have to motivate others to do the work you are unable to do.

If you don't have much energy, it will take you longer to do things. You will have to invest more time so you don't eat as much energy, and you may have to outsource work as well to minimize the stress on your energy levels.

Finally, without much money, expect to work extra hard and invest more energy to get a good return on investment of your time. If you are diligent, you will see results.

Keep in mind your goals. If you want to build a massive income, and you want it quickly expect more investment of time, money, and energy. Evaluate where you stand, determine what you are comfortable with, and get a more realistic expectation of yourself.

Keep time commitments, energy levels, and start-up and advertising costs all in mind.

Otherwise, you will waste money, time, and energy. Starting a business could be the "Worst" Mistake of your life.

Where do you struggle most?
