Cee-Lo Green Releases New Solo Album - "The Lady Killer"

Though not until quite recently a household name, Cee-Lo's voice has long been around thanks to the itremendous success of Gnarls Barkley's Crazy' in 2006. But his solo career has not risen to prominence, despite the critical praise received by his 2002 debut, Cee-Lo Green And His Perfect Imperfections'. Now "The Lady Killer" should bring Cee-Lo the credit he deserves.

With the obvious exception of "Crazy", it has taken the best part of 20 years for Cee-Lo to come up with a solo hit of any magnitude, but then inspiration struck in the form of a swearing laden song aimed at a former girlfriend and her new man, and "Forget You" was created and released , and there it was...a monster solo hit.

The new album, "The Lady Killers" has 14 tracks and is a combination of soul and synth pop which is very easy on the ear but may lack the punch that some listeners might expect.

It must be said, however, that Cee-lo may have sold his soull to the devil to some extent as by getting this album to mainstream attention, he may have sacrificed some of the rough edges that first endured him to a willing public.

This album is smooth, maybe too smooth, and with very few exceptiond the songs like a real edge or raw power and meaning.

That said, "The Lady Killer" is a pleasant and polished effortthat will see Cee-Lo get more of a foothold in the album sale market across the World, so from that point of view - job done.
