Clamping Catastrophe
Clamping Catastrophe

With parking attendants gone mad this week, a mother of two had the shock of her life when she left her children in the car to pop into the doctors surgery and pick up a prescription, and came back to find the car clamped, with her terrified children inside.

She had parked in what she thought to be park of the car park, but was actually private parking for the pub next door. There were no clear markers as to where one ended and the other began, and she was charged one hundred and fifty pounds and a further two hundred to tow the car away, money that as a single mother, she could not afford but had to pay, as she needed her car to run her children around. Residents around the area are now warning other motorists not to park around the area due to extra vigilant clampers.

The clampers claimed that children should not be left by themselves and if there is no one in the driving seat of the car, they are perfectly within their rights to clamp. But the children were eleven and seven, so old enough to be left by themselves for the two minutes she popped away.

With clampers clamping cars while the vehicles are still moving and parking attendants picking up parked cars to paint double yellow lines underneath them, we are living in a world gone mad to try and earn a few more pounds for the council. Make sure you buy Car Insurance online to save money for the parking fines!
