Dangers of Reverse Osmosis Water Discover How It Can Damage Your Long Term Health and Well-Being

Although the sellers of these systems would rather you didn't know, the dangers of reverse osmosis water are a very real and present threat to your health. They were not even originally designed for humans!

The main dangers of reverse osmosis water are two-fold the lack of trace minerals and the presence of harmful synthetic toxins.

Even though they tend to cost many times more to purchase and maintain than other more effective filters, they demineralize the water, taking out minerals like calcium and potassium. Sellers argue that this is not important as you get these from other sources.

However, your body absorbs these minerals better from water than from any other source and even the World Health Organization (WHO) states that we should all drink water with the minerals left in.

These reverse osmosis (RO) systems were originally designed for the paper and photographic industries that needed lots of demineralized water. While this is okay for industry and your car battery, it is not good to drink.

If your body loses calcium, it pulls it from other areas of your body to compensate and can result in weaker bones as you get older along with many other conditions.

The other dangers of reverse osmosis water are the many toxic chemicals it lets into your water. Their semi-permeable membranes cannot remove chemicals that are molecularly smaller than water which includes ones like pesticides and pharmaceuticals.

The danger is that you think you are being protected when in fact you are not!

To avoid these dangers, simple look for the only type of filter recommended by the US EPA which is an activated carbon block one. These are able to remove all the main contaminants and leave the minerals safely intact.

The most effective ones use a dual cartridge system with ion exchange and sub micron filtering to get rid of 99% of the main contaminants.

Unlike the RO systems which waste around 80% of the water they use, the carbon filters waste very little and require no maintenance except a simple filter change every six months.

With an increasing amount of toxins entering the water supplies today, and the municipals unable to cope, getting the right home filtration could be the best health investment you ever make to protect your family.
