Booking a New York hotel for New Year's Eve was a great way to ring in the new year

My best friend and I came up with an exciting idea for this upcoming New Year's Eve; we decided that we wanted to save up a lot of cash and stay in a New York hotel located right in or near Times Square. Obviously, it was a bit of an extravagant idea to undertake, but it definitely seemed like a fun memory to make. Since we were located in Scranton, PA about a two hour drive from the most famous city in America, we decided it would be best to take one car and make the trek overnight to avoid any ridiculous traffic. As we made our way to our NY hotel at four in the morning, we had a fairly uneventful ride, barring that one situation where my friend Ron had a dollar taco from a roadside stand; he had to make a quick dash to the nearest rest stop after that mistake.

As we made our way into the city, we were excited to see that there were decorations lining the streets, bringing the post-Christmas holiday spirit to a happy zenith. The air was tinged with the anticipation of ringing in the New Year; revelers from parties the night before walked the streets together in bliss, happy to be together on the eve of an exciting day and night. As we pulled into the lot where our New York City hotel was located, a well-dressed bellhop took our bags and marched us up to our room. I have to say, the opulence and luxury of New York hotels was never more readily apparent than when we first stepped foot into our room. It was well worth the money to make fantastic memories a block away from Times Square.
