In the last ten years, many people who have wanted to lose fat have been led to believe that functional training is the answer to their troubles. However, functional training is basically a fad that has swept through the fitness industry and gyms. This involves people training on exercise (Swiss) balls and BOSU balls. However, for most people with the exception of rehabilitation patients, this is simply a waste of time.

You will find a lot of people using these gadgets in order to lose weight. Whenever you go to a gym, you will be able to find them doing various exercises like crunches, using balance equipment. However, this does not give them the results they desire. If you are with a trainer who instructs you to use these exercise gadgets, then what you have with you is a good entertainer, not a good fitness trainer.

These balls or gadgets are not really bad per se, it's just that they are not promoting enough of the right hormones that make our bodies lose fat. In particular, training with this equipment does not help you produce hormones like growth hormone and testosterone.

Most people train and go to gyms to lose body fat & weight and to look better in the mirror. If you use fitness training that does not promote the production of growth hormones and testosterone, then you're not going to get good fat and weight loss results.

If for the past few months, you have been trying to get in shape using these exercise balls and BOSU balls, then for sure you will not be achieving the shape that you wanted. So what must you do?

You need to do the Big Five. These are pull ups, dips, presses (like shoulder presses or bench presses), squats, and deadlifts. These exercises really jack up your metabolism to record speed and also ramp up growth hormone and testosterone.

If you would not like to make much progress, then you can stick to Swiss balls and BOSU balls because doing these exercises would just be like trying to light a match in an alleyway where strong winds blow.
