Any given day of any given year, a prom or dance takes place. High school girls and boys dress up, set decorations and dance the night away. These dances are high points of excitement for the students and have weeks of build up before hand. For those teenagers out there, what's the first thing you think about when you hear the word "dance"? Probably getting a date. My advice is don't worry about it. Yeah you could try to flirt with the person you like, get them to like you, ask your friendsect But if they see you there, all dressed up and looking like your beautiful (or any other adjective of choice) self, then chances are they will come right to you. The first step in trying to lure your crush is your outfit.
When I say outfit, I mean the whole shebang. Hair, makeup, jewelry, clothes, anything else you might add. Lets start with the basic outfit. The first piece of advice I would give you or anyone else looking to create stylish attire is to be yourself. Pick clothing that you think represents you. If you are wearing a glamorous dress, but you really feel like wearing a suit, do it! Prom is free reign, it's the one night you get to express yourself without limitations. Don't let anyone hold you back. Second, pick something that shows off your body. Not necessarily something skin tight or revealing, but something that makes you look good. Decide what kind of color you might like, or what kind of pattern. Don't be afraid to try lots of things on, because you never know what you might find.
After you have put your apparel together, the next thing you would probably look for is accessories, such as jewelry, bags and other types of things. The first criteria would probably be that they compliment your already picked out clothing. Something that makes your outfit shine. If you're looking at jewelry, you might consider earrings, necklaces, bracelets or maybe tiaras. You can decided whether you want to be flashy or understated, you want to stand out or shine through. You might also consider other accessories like eyewear or handbags or something, just use the same criteria. Most of all, remember to be yourself. Prom is important, but the most important thing is to be yourself. Shine on and shine through, and maybe, when you least expect it, that special someone will see you standing alone and say "May I have this dance?"
