Most website owners do not have the same goals as freelance writers. Website owners need to increase traffic to their websites to make a purchase or subscription. With this in mind, many website owners fail to deliver their readers to their website. The following tips will get your readers to take the next logical step.
The first logical step when writing your articles is to create an easy to read, well organized article with lots of keywords. The keywords increase your search engine optimization - which in turn increases the odds your article gets read. The next logical step is to get the reader from the article to your website. You can not increase your revenue within the article itself. Revenues are increased by transporting traffic to your website.
There are two elements to attracting web surfers to your home page. First, you must include a call to action in your conclusion. A call to action is simply instructing or encouraging the reader to take some type of action - usually visiting your website to make a purchase. Therefore, after a nice summary of the article, your conclusion should go straight to closing the deal. You are not writing to entertain or merely inform. You are writing articles as a tool to get the reader back to your website. It is important to never lose site of this.
The second part of recruiting readers is to include back links in your call to action. Back links are direct portals from the article to your website. While your call to action tells them what they should do next, the back link immediately brings them to the place where they can do it.
Getting your readers to take the next logical step is a two step process. Give them some encouragement with a call to action. And then provide them with a gateway to your website with a back link. When done correctly, the next step is nothing but logical.
