Whenever the discussion on pet birds goes on, most of them belong to the region where climate is of tropical type and hence these birds are used to warmer temperature. In their home climate, these birds are kept in bird cages. However, it is not necessary that these birds are going to be fed only in their favorable conditions and hence whenever these are taken to the colder climate, there is a huge probability of causing some abnormalities in the body of birds. Hence in such colder regions, bird cages need to be made little bit warmer so as to make them feel comfortable. Such kind of heating is not provided directly and there are certain tips that need to be followed while giving supplemental warmth to the bird cages.
First of all, proper selection of place is done so as to place bird cages. Selection of location should be such that there should not be open vents and also such places should not be directly exposed to the sunlight. This is so because; temperature can be controlled only when bird cages are closed and if such vents are found then extreme temperature may result in some detrimental effects. Secondly, there is a need to monitor inside temperature precisely time to time and care should be taken if some more supplemental warmth is required. There are so many ways by which, heating can be provided but the safest and reliable method seems to be the heater method. It depends on us that what kind of heater we want to use. There are some particular heaters manufactured to be used inside the bird cages. If heating is done through bulbs then care should be taken that only infrared bulbs must be brought into use. Lastly, temperature should be measured with the help of thermometers and should be monitored consistently.
