Ozzfest is an annual festival tour of the United States (and in some years, Europe) featuring performances by many heavy metal and hard rock musical groups. It was founded by Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon Osbourne, of whom also organize each yearly tour with their son Jack Osbourne. The Ozzfest tour has featured bands of a variety of genres within heavy metal and hard rock, including alternative metal, thrash metal, industrial metal, metalcore, hardcore punk, nu metal, death metal, gothic metal and black metal. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath have played the tour several times over the years.
Ozzfest 2008 festival took place for only one date at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas on 8 August 2008. The line-up featured Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne as the headliners, as well as other acts such as Jonathan Davis (frontman of Korn), Sevendust, DevilDriver, Serj Tankian (frontman of System of a Down), Cavalera Conspiracy, Shadows Fall, Apocalyptica and In This Moment.
Ozzfest will be back in UK this summer after 8 years. Ozzfest 2010 will took place for only one date on 18 September 2010 at O2 Arena, London. Line up for Ozzfest tour includes Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Murderdolls and Skindred.
OZZFEST is set to hit the UK with a one-off date at London's O2 arena on September 18th 2010. OZZY OSBOURNE will be accompanied on the main stage by KORN, MURDERDOLLS and SKINDRED, plus a special guest TBC, with more acts still to be announced for the second stage. In addition to the music on offer, OZZY and co will take over the entire O2 complex, offering up a Village Of The Damned, with fairground rides, stalls and tattooists.
