It seems that male drivers are more likely to have a motoring conviction that women, if statistics revealed by a car insurer are anything to go by. The survey states that men are one and a half times more likely to have a motoring conviction, and have been clocking up twenty percent more miles than women. According to research, eighteen percent of Britain's drivers have a motoring conviction, with four percent having two or more.
Eight five percent of these are for speeding, nine percent for jumping a red light, while two percent are for driving while under the influence of alcohol. The study has also revealed that men are twice as likely to be convicted for a drink driving offence, although the numbers of women caught in the act is increasing steadily.
Britain's cleanest driving licences exist in northern island, where just 9 percent of men are guilty of driving offences, while the midlands topped the poll of motoring convictions in England.
