According to Jane Mcgonigal, gamers poses the ability to change the world.
Staring at a screen all day, most gamers are just labled geeks and other such things by most people, but what if that 'geek' could be the person that helps make the world a better place?
According to Jane Mcgonical, gamers have distinctive traits, which make them able to make quick important decisions, they have quik reactions, know how to get out of tight situations and a hole bunch of other things 'ordinary' people lack the ability to do!

If all the gamers that play WoW (thats an online multiplayer gamer that is infamous amoungst gamers), were given a game that say, had one of the many problems facing todays world, such as the reseaction, or third world hunger, they would be able to come up with a solution within a year, because gamers dont like to leave a problem unsolved in what they are doing and they like to act right away unlike most the people who are in charge in real life.
If you were to take all the hours that the game World of Warcraft (WoW) was played a week, you would get around 3 Billion hours, now thats just in one week! but if we want gamers to be able to help the planet, they need to increase that number, to 21 billion hours a week! (speacksavers mite be getting alot of business soon!)
So what Jane is saying, does make sense if you think about it, and i highly recomend that you watch the video on ted.com.
