WHY ARE STUDENTS CHEATING IN EXAMINATION?

Cheating in examination is so alarming that i decided to scrutinize the aspect from the intensity and mouthful of air of the circumstance.
This horrible practice is infringing new foundation and becoming a customs in our school system of today. No matter, all the attribute of the government and authorities, students are still indulging themselves in this critical issues.
Actually, the story is same at all stage of our educations. This fraudulent act has become a possible business to many livelihoods.
However, a lot of questions have been asked by apprehensive educationists, school administrators, teachers and even the government official on the critical issue. But nonetheless, in replying this question, I will simply draw my emphasize basically on the educational system of today.
FACTORS FOR EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE:
A Corrupt Society: Well, in this phenomenon, corruption tends to acts in so many ways which cannot be over-emphasized. Also, the school and society cannot be separated and since the school reflects the prevailing culture in the entire society, then it is bound to cheating at examination. Moreso, the world over, societies set up schools for the achievement of certain goals. Though, student seems to default such regulations and rules rather, they went by indulging or giving themselves to either the teachers or vice-versa for promotion sect. Also, part of the reasons why these goals cannot be met is because of the societal influence on our children and the school system. The greatest of it is the spread of examination malpractice been observed and carryon as a duty of mankind.
The Parents: However, to be more realistic, most parent think that it is by cheating at examination that their wards can excel and compete favourably with other wards that pursue the same purpose through hard work and determination. Also this development shows the extent to which parents have gone in destroying the educational system of our era. This is the same insight they have in the pursuant of material things, like acquiring wealth at all means without minding if possible they can practicalize that themselves. So through this critical issue have really disdained their potentials and knowledge which they suppose to have.
The Teachers: In this instance, student who is poorly taught resort to examination malpractice. This shall be discussed in two aspects;
Firstly, if the teachers are not well qualified in this professional. Because, in some area, it not all those who called themselves teachers are professional in such Collin so do to this lead the students indulges themselves in malpractice.
Finally Basic Necessities: Shortage of facilities such as classrooms, educational materials as well as lack of books, libraries, and adequate manpower has been identified as part of the root cause of this problem.
The condition under which students study and write examination is conducive for cheating during examination. Therefore, proper examination must be conducted, and when this is not done, you create a symbolic way for malpractice.
CONSEQUENCES/POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
Well, in order to eradicate this critical issue, there following solutions must be taking;
1. The Society: in this aspect, the society at large should try all they could to make sure that they eradicate these fraudulent acts. Because, it only when there is a collective approach to this issue that we can make a development. However, corruption in the country has become the nuisance of the world. As a result of this, societal values of honesty, hard work, truth and justice have been jettisoned in favour of primitive values.
So in addition to this, the three tiers of government; the local, state, and federal should work hand in hand to make sure that this symptom is highly eradicated.
2. The Parent: In this perspective, the parents should see the need to set good examples for their children. The home should be a centre for moral growth and development; but most parents instill negative morals in their wards. Some parents are so corrupt that, they overlook and abet examination malpractice with humiliation. However, what actually can we classify these parents as? Moreso, the answers is so enormous! But nonetheless, I term such parent who abets this as a profession to their wards as enemy of progress and down fault to his/her child.
Furthermore, parents have a role to play in inculcating positive values to their children. As role models, they have a responsibility to instill the spirit of hard work into their children.
3.Basic Facilities: Actually, most of the schools in the world are confronted with this phenomenon of inadequate teaching and learning facilities. The availability of teaching and learning facilities in their right quality does not only arouse the student's desire in learning but also brought negative tendencies among them. The students need a contented and conducive environment for effective learning progresses.
4. In Addition, Counseling Unit should be make available for every school in the world; what I means by that, is simply obvious. Firstly, the ministry for education should make it a mandatory for schools to establish counseling service to all the students, be it as it may, for this shall really aids the student toward achieving sound education and in collaboration, exploring in term of becoming self-esteem, self-confident, well articulate and inculcate the potentials of being successful in their field of endeavour. So therefore, I propose here that, there should be on the job training of teachers who will operate the counseling units. Moreover, if the students are properly counseled in school, they will be a priority for excellent and the intrinsic challenge to shun examination malpractice.
In summary, it is pertinent that, governments and their cabinets should put their together in order to foster the basic necessities of the students. Because, it has been says "Two heads put together to make a positive".
