Weftec, the water quality event

WEFTEC, the largest water quality event in North America, will arrive in Los Angeles in 2011. The WEFTEC technical program and expansive exhibition floor are leading sources for water quality developments with ceramic membranes, research, regulations, solutions, and cutting-edge technologies. The newly completed Los Angeles downtown renaissance provides attendees with an experience like never before. Hosting WEFTEC in Los Angeles means exhibitors can expect West Coast professional attendance to surpass 3000.

Thousands of water and wastewater professionals attend WEFTEC to learn, network, find out about new products and services, and earn continuing educationcredit and PDH hours. Cutting-edge technical sessions and workshops address topics including collection systems; membrane technologies; plant operations, treatment, and management; regulations and research

The 2010 keynote address was delivered by Steven Solomon, an esteemed economics journalist and author of Water: The Epic Struggle for Wealth, Power, and Civilization. Recognizing that freshwater scarcity is one of the twenty-first century's decisive, looming challenges and is driving the new political, economic, and environmental realities across the globe, Solomon shared his insights about the key role water has had in the development of modern societies and the growing issues over scarcity and pollution. He called on water professionals to be leaders in addressing this challenge by adopting a new paradigm of sustainable water management.

The world's largest annual water quality exhibition is a big part of WEFTEC, where almost 1,000 exhibitors display the latest in water quality research technology and services. Eighty-seven percent of WEFTEC attendees are leaders from the municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and water quality markets who are there to see and purchase equipment and services.
