The car industry is back. No, wait, consumers still aren't spending. But big orders are up. Okay, there are a lot of conflicting messages out there. Regardless of all of the assertions about the car industry and economy as a whole, Fremont Acura dealers are happy about the recent monthly sales numbers.
Acura announced sales for September 2010 reached 10,720 vehicles, marking a 48 percent increase over the same month last year and notching an eighth consecutive month in which Acura has shown double-digit sales increases. For the year, sales are up 26 percent, with 96,388 units sold in 2010.
"Acura continues to be a smart choice in the luxury market," said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. "With sales up nearly 50% for the month, the Acura line-up is really hitting a sweet spot with customers."
The MDX has been leading the way in sales, topping 4,000 units sold and up 84 percent. The RDX has also seen an 84 percent increase in sales, meaning that the light truck offerings from Acura have been key to the dramatic increase in sales. Still, car sales increased 17% alone.
In September, sales for the TL totaled 2,514 units, and 2,256 units of the TSX were moved on the month, increases of 23.6 percent and 7.3 percent respectively.
Acura has been moving in the right direction all year, and Acura TSX dealers in Fremont have reason for continued optimism, as all models in the brand's lineup are showing movement in the positive direction.
