The 2010 Expo is about to begin in Shanghai and is the central focus of international attention. To advertise Kunshan, we are uniting with the opening of the Shanghai Expo to turn Kunshan into an internationally renowned tourism city, raise international awareness of Kunshan and allow more international friends to gain a greater in depth understanding of Kunshan. We hope to extensively cooperate with the Kunshan Tourism Board, with the host being the Kunshan Tourism Board, to launch Bignosechina Website's "Kunshan in the eyes of a Foreigner" Photography competition. This competition open to foreigners will be named "Kunshan in My Eyes".
Competition theme and standing:
The standing of this competition is an amateur photography competition, mainly aimed at foreign visitors of the Expo, foreign travelers and foreigners living in China.
The theme of this competition is "Kunshan in the eyes of a Foreigner" photography competition; this competition open to foreigners is named "Kunshan in my Eyes" and will open our foreign friend's eyes to Kunshan.
Competition Scope:
The compositions of this competition will mainly be composed mainly of a variety of photographs taken during trips to Kunshan, mainly reflecting Kunshan's natural landscape and human landscape, projecting and reflecting Kunshan's most beautiful natural scenery and the modern scenery of the city of Kunshan.
Qualifying Participants:
Foreigners from inside and outside China, overseas Chinese; not restricted by profession, age, or religion, etc.
Composition Criteria:
Composition themes taken from Kunshan's "Natural wonders, human emotions, natural conditions and social customs and human sympathy", unfolding Kunshan's culture, landscape, city, people, bringing greater understanding and experience to all, an interpretation of Kunshan city's special charm.
The themes of the compositions should reflect Kunshan's beautiful natural and human environment. They should possess spirit of the times and characteristics of regional culture, noble and graceful style.
Participating compositions should show techniques with strong creativity and vivid styles. Subject matter, form and style and categories are not limited, color or black and white is not limited; film or digital formats are both accepted.
Participant's number of compositions is not limited, single or group entries are accepted: color or black and white photography, style is unlimited: if participant's compositional contents involve laws concerning portraiture rights, rights of reputation, privacy rights, copyright, trademark rights, the participate will be solely responsible for any consequences and will be settled by themselves. Any photographic compositions that have already been awarded prizes in other photography competitions cannot be used again in this competition.
For this competition, only digital compositions will be accepted, single compositions should not be smaller than 2M (for photographs taken by mobile phones, compositions can be lowered to between 500k- 1M), in JPEG format. All competition pieces must not have any embellishments like frames, watermarks, signatures, etc. Compositions can however be appropriately touched up to adjust display effects, but must retain the composition's original distinguishing characteristics.
For this competition, we accept three forms of composition submission: via upload on the web, by post, by email. Compositions sent by post must have the following: Title of work, name of photographer, contact address, postcode, contact number, email address, etc and any other necessary contact information.
The compositions from this competition submitted automatically accept and agree that the competition hosts can use these compositions in any broadcast, advertisement, publicity stunts and will label clearly with the composer/ participant's name.
All winning compositions' ownership and copyright belongs to the competition hosts, and will be displayed as exhibits at the closing of the competition.
Any photographs and compositions submitted to the competition will not be returned.
