Don't do it to them like you wouldn't like it done to you.

2. Embarrassing interactions: It is possible that a friend that you remember from the past doesn't remember you just as vividly. This is certainly an issue, because it leaves the person who does remember embarrassed and exposed.

3. Adding people you don't know: People gaining access of Social media puts you in a position to add someone without even knowing who they are. It can happen for two reasons, because you are embarrassed to admit you know them or because they are your friend's friend.

4. Updating details when you are sick: Sometimes you take a day off from work citing sickness or some personal emergency. A blunder you can make is to update details of your fabulous day off on your social media without realizing that your boss is also on that list.

5. Private message vs. public post: When you need to say something personal, send out a private do not post it as a public comment. Posting private messages on public forum can lead to a lot of issues. Always be cautious about what you are writing before putting it out on the web.

6. Making spelling mistakes: Try not to make spelling mistakes on public forum. A lot of people will see, and point it out to you, that too on the public forum. If you spot mistake, be kind and send them a private message.

7. Adding personal details: As much as you might think that the details are available to your friends a lot of the information is available to a lot of audiences. People can put too much information out on the social media. That is never the best idea.

8. Posting when you're stressed or unstable: More often than not people tend to regret what they say when they are stressed or upset. The last thing you want to do is post that on a public form. Even if you do, and realize at a later point, deleting is a good option.

9. Lying online: A common problem with lying online is that it will stay online and you can be taken up on it at any time. When you don't want to tell the truth, stay quiet and say nothing.

10. Complaining about work online: A friend would understand your issues with work if you talk to them, but posting it on a site will more often than not get to your work place.
