Breathe fully and deeply and live a healthy life

Breathe fully & deeply and live a healthy life

This may surprise you, but your long term health prospects are very much dependent upon your ability to

breathe fully & deeply.

I bet from time to time, that you catch yourself holding your breath or even breathing in a rapid manner.

In a nut shell, you are probably under pressure and feeling the effects of stress.

Before you know it, this will be your regular way of breathing and you will definitely

be inviting bouts of ill health and increasing muscle tensions into various areas of your body

on a very consistent basis.

That re-occurring back problem, that stiff neck, that continuous headache, you guessed it

your bodies' way of reflecting your breathing habits.

But, you can once again learn to

breathe fully & deeply.

I say once again, because as a child you naturally knew how to breathe fully & deeply, before you took on board that dreaded six letter word

STRESS.

Don't believe all those people that say stress can be good for you.

Put simply, stress is representative of re-occurring negative thoughts.

If these get out of hand, then expect your mind, body and I also include spirit, to reap its much dreaded long term consequences.

If you can control stress then you are a lucky person, because, I reckon if you knew how to control it, you wouldn't want it in your life

for sure,

100%.

Unless you have experienced long periods of retreat and/or understand the benefits of calming your mind and therefore relaxing your body, you are highly unlikely to understand or evenrealise the harmonising effect that breathing fully and deeply

will have on you.

Let me try in as simpler a way as I can, to briefly give you some tools to combat your re-occurring ill health and the damaging effects of stress on your

mind, body and spirit.

LET US BEGIN

There is the in-breath and then there is the out-breath.

Between the in-breath and the out-breath there is the pause.

In a beautifully relaxed state - as experienced in meditation - one becomes aware of the pause. It is so fundamental to the whole breathing process and yet

it happens spontaneously, without one forcing it to happen.

Observe the young child whilst it sleeps, you will realise the beauty of its pureness of breath. Watch the rhythm of the breath and observe

the in-breath,

the pause,

the out-breath,

the pause (once again).

It is perfection in the art of breathing fully & deeply.

As adults, this way of breathing is more often then not

lost

forever.

Why? Because the stresses of life interfere with the art of breathing fully & deeply.

But, you can get it back, because when you do

you will bring

peace & harmony back into your

mind, body and spirit.

So, watch the child and truly learn.

Allow the in-breath to just come, then

observe the pause,

and allow it to

just come.

Then breathe-out,

let it flow, smoothly, uninterrupted and then

watch the pause,

and just allow it to come.

Do not force anything.

Everything is as it is.

You are breathing exactly how you should at this precise moment, and

you are doing wonderfully.

Begin the cycle once again.

Allow your mind to be calm and let the art of breathing fully & deeply

develop naturally.

Today is the beginning of your new way of breathing.

So, for a few minutes everyday just practice

the in-breath, the pause, the out-breath, the pause, and

just allow, without judgement.

Do you realise, that every fibre of your being will be flooded with

greater peace, greater joy, greater love and much more harmony.

This will ultimately make you a healthier, happier person.

What a great way to live.
