The Beast Is Sublime

Bart Green whom no one likes because of his truthfulness

In recent memory, from latest to earliest, being nice has gotten me insulted, killed a poor innocent animal, criticized, emotional scarred, beaten, and pulverized, and lastly, being nice, lost me money.

I gave a ride to a roommate and she returns the favor by ruthlessly insulting me. Being nice got me reprimanded and made me lose respect for the person that caused me to feel like shit. So doing an overtly good deed or act got me nowhere, and it got me nowhere fast!

I decided to help a poor dove on the bottom of the pecking order and moved this innocent, helpless white dove into another cage. The next day, it was dead. Apparently, it had not had water. It was in the brutal sun with no water. To my defense, the bird could not move when I moved it anyway. But stop lying to yourself, being nice is a thing of the past and a thing for the weak and poor or the ultra rich go givers.

But before I stop this essay entitled "The Beast Is Sublime," I will tell you a few more stories to prove my points.

I was nice and it got me criticized. I selflessly decided to make a documentary on The New Orleans Comedy Industry. My goal was to bring the industry out of the bars and into the theatres, a noble cause, I assure you. This would have broadened and enlarged the movement and audiences instead of moving the organizers, etc to outside cities where they now reside (Austin, New York, Detroit, Santa Barbara, etc). (Not to mention that some of the venues have been decimated by the Hurricane) But of course, this nice, selfless act turned into another disaster. To put it mildly, it was a catastrophe with no trophy. The people being helped did not want my help therefore shunned any future relationship with the product or project and attempted to assassinate my character. Luckily, I have thick skin, persistence, desire, and the knowledge that opinions are incredibly cheap and easy to come by. Yes, they are common and for simpletons who let others make decisions for them because they are afraid of their sublimity in the face of death.

These things, I've come to learn, are for the myopic. As humans, we are not designed to be a thing, person, or place. We are made by and for nature and are spiritual in nature. My nature is forever changing. I am no longer Mr. Nice Guy doing good deeds to enhance my so-called karma. My intention is to be sublime. Even Yoda and the Jedi have to be wicked, crude, evil, and lavish every now and again for the greater good. My intention is to be sublime! I am to live in a state of affirmation, and positive affirmation at that. I am a beast, vampire, ogre, monster, fiend for sublimity and sublimity alone.

But ye my good friend, verily, let me tell you another quick story about why I choose to live this way. It was, of course, about being nice and how it caused me great misfortune. It was even, dare I utter the word, unfortunate. I am telling you this because I want you to confront your toxic dreams. I want to make the case that being nice is rooted in fear. Being nice translates into conformity if it is not in your best interest, finishing last, alone, and hence ultimately suffering more and more at life instead of demanding what is rightfully yours, freedom and liberty to do as you desire. You can be big like a tycoon or giant too.

I know that curses can be blessings in disguise, thankfully, and can bring great rewards. It is true. I admit it. I acknowledge the idea. I shake my head yes. I hear you. But I do not agree with you and never have and probably never will because words are just words anyways. They only have the power to shape minds and brains, devilish as they are.

Why should I not lavishly expand at the expense of others and take control of my personal space and situation and hence make joy a driving force, a dominating force to be reckoned with. I'm not speaking coercion or brute force rather closer to that of a convincing aura. And yes I am self-reliant and have self-reliance because of auto-suggestion. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can turns into I thought I could, I thought I could, I thought I could.

But ye my good friend, I am talking about another experience in which being nice to myself left me like a barren wasteland, a desert. I'd rather be a dessert, lol.

To spare you the intimate details, I'll save my breath for yet another day but remember, always, and with a deep voice, that T.R.O.M. says that the beast, in the end, is sublime.
