The Wyvern Mystery authored by Sheridan Le Fanu is one such horror and mystery classic that is easily one of the most written about, reviewed and analysed classic of all times. The author Le Fanu, an Irish born dreamer who tried to incorporate his dreams or its implications into whatever he wrote. He had during his lifetime written about 25 books to his credit. He wrote what can be safely termed as cheap horror books with vampires and other evil spirits forming the core of his stories.
What probably made the The Wyvern Mystery a more popular classic than other Cheap Books on the subject was the fact that the story contained several sub plots and each was interwoven seamlessly into each other. This truly made for a very engrossing read with the reader literally yearning to know more and the end. As is the case with most cheap books and cheap horror books for that matter, The Wyvern Mystern was later made into a television movie starring Naomi Watts playing the chief protagonist in 2000.
