Caution! You May Not Earn Anything
Caution! You May Not Earn Anything

If you sell nothing, then you will earn nothing. Results will vary.

Isn't it interesting how the established system of employment has rules in place to warn people against "risky" endeavors such as Direct Sales. A substantial number of big-name online companies even go so far as to restrict paid advertisements for Direct Sales recruiting efforts. They do this, they say, to protect people from "risky" endeavors and potential "scams". Search for the name of any Direct Sales organization you wish, along with the word "scam" and you will find dozens of warnings. The bottom line is that it is considered appropriate hire people for a job, but it is not acceptable to recruit someone to start their own business.

This is interesting particularly because it makes no sense when you consider the facts. Employers are firing people right and left. Worse still, they are not rehiring. An increasing number of people have been out of work so long, that their 99 weeks of unemployment benefits are set to expire. Granted, some people who were fired were incompetent and did not deserve to keep their job. However, there are a vast number of hard working people who were also fired, even though they were excelling in their assignments! Contrast that with the world of Direct Sales. In our most recent research, Direct Sales companies aren't firing performers.

The Employer/Employee model is risky. A corporate takeover today means 10,000 employees fired tomorrow. You typically won't see the warning "if you are doing a great job, you may still get downsized!" Even aspirations to move up the corporate ladder can be snuffed out by a glass ceiling of politics.

Direct Sales is different. If you perform, you earn more. Period. That more can very realistically be six and even seven figures per year.

Direct Sales companies have come a long way. Generally, they started by focusing on a particular niche product, and then expanded. "Amway" sells a lot more than just floor cleaners, just as "Avon" has grown far beyond lipstick. You have the ability to not only choose which product to sell for one Direct Sales company, but also to sell products for more than one Direct Sales companies. Sell "Mary Kay" cosmetics and "lia Sophia" jewelry. Sell "GVO" online marketing services and "Cutco" knives. You will become your own business, able to make decisions about how to create your wealth.

To be successful, you must have a plan. Learn their membership requirements and understand their income structures. Saying that an income system is MLM-based is about as descriptive as calling something a computer. Income structures can be very rewarding and powerful. However they can be very complex to understand. Either take the time to do the math or take the time to speak with an established affiliate. You will want to come away from this effort with pre defined selling and recruiting goals to meet your earning objectives. You should answer these four questions before joining any program, and then revise your answers about every three months:

What am I going to sell?

Who are my prospects?

What are my monthly sales goals?

What are my monthly recruiting goals?

To succeed in Direct Sales, you must have Discipline and Drive. These are musts. You must have the discipline to establish personal quotas and goals, keep up with the paperwork, and educate yourself. You must have the drive to work hard and persevere. It will take considerable time and effort to become successful in the world of Direct Sales. For those of us in this endeavor, that is great news. That is great news because we know our Direct Sales world won't go "poof" just because some faceless figure issued a pink slip. In our world, if you sell everything, then you will earn everything. Results are yours for the taking!
